Chapter holds a pie-in-the-face fundraiser
by Daniel Payne
On Thursday, November 11, 2009, the chapter gathered with Delta State students, faculty, and staff to raise money by selling pies. Collegiate members put on smiling faces as people lined up to get their chance at throwing a pie or two at their favorite Sinfonian. Also, pies designated for faculty and staff members were auctioned off to the highest bidder. People such as Elsie Lynn Ervin (the adviser to the DSU Interfraternity Council), Julie Jackson (the director of housing), Andrew Spencer (director of university food services), and Brother John Wojcik (university band director and a faculty advisor to Theta Upsilon) graciously donated their time and dignity to help the chapter raise money. At the end of the day the event was a great success, but it couldn’t have happened without the manpower of all the brothers of Theta Upsilon and the overwhelming generosity of the faculty and staff at Delta State University.
