Chapter has a barbecue fundraiser with the aviation department

On the 16th and 17th of October the chapter put together a BBQ fundraiser during the Region IV National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) SAFECON. The chapter was tapped to provide food for the event, choosing to do a BBQ Sandwich plate with a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and cole slaw. Poor weather kept the planes at the airport grounded for the first day but the second day saw the clouds lift high enough for most of the events to take place. The BBQ plates were a major success. The food was cooked and prepared by Brother Daniel Payne’s parents Bill and Suzanne Payne. They bought, cooked, and packaged the food and it was brought down to DSU in coolers and pulled and served at the airport by chapter brothers. The DSU Aviation department was pleased with the quality and professionalism shown by the chapter and have mentioned that they would like the chapter to provide the food for their future events as well.
